EXPERIMENTAL MONOPRINTING WITH PLANTS

Are you a nature lover and are you looking for beauty in the world of plants?

In this fun and 
inspiring  workshop, you will learn how to use fresh plants to create monoprints on various types of paper and fabric.  Fresh plants will be collected for you in the botanical garden and you will have a unique opportunity to work with different species.

The emphasis is on experimenting to achieve a range of visual effects. The process is full of surprises and reveals details and structures that might otherwise go unnoticed.

You will learn various 
techniques - printing on fabrics with textile paints and printing on paper using gelli plates. 

At the end of the day you will have created a set of printed images that you can take home with you.

PRINT & STITCH

Are you a creative person and find your inspiration in nature?

Do you want to learn the basics of printing and working with thread in one workshop?

 

During the PRINT&STITCH workshop Dora will introduce you to the technique of monoprinting on textiles using fresh plants and textile paints.

In the first part of the workshop, you will experiment with different plants and materials, and then create your own design. Dora will guide you through this process full of surprises and happy accidents.

 

In the second part, you will learn the basics of working with thread and embroidery. Regardless of whether you have no experience in stitching yet or already know the basics of embroidery, Dora will help you improve your skills.

 

Finally, you will be ready to embellish your plant monoprints with stitching.

Workshop

EMBROIDERED HERBARIUM

Would you like to be inspired by the diversity of plants found at TU Delft Botanical Garden and create your own embroidered herbarium?

 

During this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore the creative possibilities and beauty of embroidery on plants. 

 

In the first part of the workshop, you will learn how to work with paper, thread, fresh leaves and other parts of the plants. Whether you have no experience in stitching yet or already know the basics of embroidery, Dora will help you to improve your skills.

 

In the second part, you will work with a plant of your choice. Through careful observation and respect for the plant, you will create an embroidered herbarium presenting your favourite plant in a visually stunning way.

Workshop

NATURAL DYES & ECO PRINTING

Do you have a thing for nature, color and creativity? Would you like to start your new adventure in search of the color hidden in plants?

 

In this workshop you will learn the art and science of natural dyes and eco-printing.

 

In the first part you will learn all the steps needed to dye fabrics with plants and make eco-prints. We cover topics such as different types of fibers, mordants, color modifiers and dye plants.

 

In the second part you make your own eco-prints with leaves and flowers collected for you in the botanical garden. Your creativity and intuition will be your guides in this exciting experience. You'll create your own eco-print that you can proudly display, give as a gift to someone or use for your another art or craft project.
